Continuum
These works are a response to a prompt to create multi-panel pieces addressing the theme "CONTINUUM".
In the making of these paintings, I was drawn to the many qualities that unfold along a continuum: dark to light value, muted to vibrant color, micro to macro scale, and shallow to deep space. I also considered the more abstract continuums of concept and identity. I have never seen the value in narrowly defining myself—or my imagery—so the process of making these works felt naturally expansive and fluid.
Screen printing vector-based computer drawings into my work, I muse about the intersection of body and technology while venturing to explore the bend of line, deformation of shape, and inflection of form as they come under the influence of gravity, magnetism, and quantum mechanics. With a love of engraved and etched line as a jumping off point, these prints signal a reverence for the history of print with a bridge to the present.
